Sunscreen vs G10

And also several different types of cloth.

Linen, canvas, denim, burlap, just off the top of my head. Paper isn’t even a cloth but makes a lovely smooth micarta.

(Not to imply that knarfeng didn’t already know this. I’m just adding to the pile of variability of “micarta.”)
Yes, I said that. "The reinforcement used can vary also.". The glass plies in G10 and the cloth used in micarta are there to reinforce and strengthen the resin. In the trade, we call them "reinforcements".

I do have an example of G10 that’s a bit bleached out, presumably from prolonged UV exposure, but I bought it used so I can’t confirm.

It is structurally and functionally perfect though.

Possible. Epoxy resins are damaged by the UV radiation found in sunlight. But for UV to cause structural damage to epoxy or G10 prolonged exposure to direct sunlight would be necessary. (Months of direct exposure sitting directly in the sunlight.)
