I have a line on some 1055 for very cheep like 0.77 a pound. after shipping it might be a buck or so but it would still be very very cheep. i would have order in full bar lengths to get the price. any takers

Would 1055 be best for large choppers, or for mixing with higher carbon in damascus?

I found out that it is raplacment plades for likt the frount of tractor buckets so one side has a taper but if you forge then its not a problem. the thinest thy have is 3/8" x 3" and it goes all the way up to 1" x 8" by 24'. i was thinking the 1" x 8" would be nice because you could slice off chunks from the end and forge into a blade. or you could get the 3/8 3" and split it length wise and you have one that has a forged edge bevel allready ;).
