I have a Super Commander Satin Serrated, had it for about three weeks now.

Absolutely one of the coolest knives in my collection, probably the coolest. I cannot quit taking it out of my pocket and opening it just to look at it again. Numerous times a day.

I never thought my Umnumzaans or Wilson Combat Umnumzaans would be upsurped, or my Sebbie 25, or some of my Spydercos but honestly this Super Commander trumps them all. It just plain rocks and I'm always glad it's in my pocket.

Anyone else feel that way? Has a new knife just came along and whacked the Sh%! out of all the other knives you've acquired until that point?

Which one did it for you?

I hear you about not being able to quit checking it out. It is a really nice knife. Unbelieveably symmetrical and made just for your hand.

I have a ZT 0770 and a Commander and then I got the Super. The ZT got blown away by the Commander and now that I have a Super, the ZT is even further blown away along with two Utilitacs that I all but forgot about. Those three I mentioned have to go for sure.

As for the Commander and the Super, I am infatuated with both equally. The Super has been with me since I got it and you're right, I can't leave it alone. An absolutely great knife to have on me.

I just experienced my first Commander and I feel the same way but it will be rotation with my HD7... I think.
The Commander is a PERFECT folder design.

I believe you are spot on with this assesment. Although I would not consider myself nowhere near an authority on the matter.

newknif- Thank you but I am no authority. It took quite some time to find out what I really like in a knife and the Emerson knife concept is for me.
I do own and appreciate other brands and other knives also.

I hear you. I just can't think of getting anything other than an Emerson. Evertime I tell myself that I should get this or that, I immediately think that it would be foolish and I should just save the money up and get another Emerson. I'm almost positive I would just sell any other piece that I would force myself into.

I am very new to this hobby. Which is why I felt I needed to add that I am no authority on the matter. I know that it is a matter of preference when it comes to getting and using a knife. But I'm sure there are certain things that indicate a really good design or quality.

I'd be oblivious to these nuances whereas someone with more time who seriously explored the hobby would be more able to say what is a good design based on their greater experience. Forgive my longwinded explanation but that is what I meant by saying I'm nowhere near an authority on the matter.

All I know is I agree 100% with your assesment.

I've had the middle three Commanders (Super, Mini and standard) and am amazed how no matter the size, their ergo's are all spot on - equally so for my paws.

Yep. ^
Thanks again, newknif. "Experience is a great teacher."
I said that I would not collect knives knives again but I have and they are all Emerson knives. There's nothing wrong with a little knife collection. :)

This reminds me of Hatori Hanzai in Kill Bill. The man from Okinawa who was a famous sword maker. He had made the finest and most lethal swords known to man but became grieved at what his creations had wrought. He vowed before God to never create something that would kill again. That is until he was coaxed out of retirement by Uma Thurman.

Anyway, why would you say that you would not collect knives again?

I've completed doing what I swore an oath to God 28 years ago to never do again. I have made "something that kills people". And in that purpose, I was a success. I've done this because philisophically, I am sympathetic to your aim. I can tell you with no ego, this is my finest sword. And if on your journey, you should encounter God, God will be cut.

Great movie!
Thanks for pic also.
I did not want to collect anymore, on the simplicity-thing, that my wife and I agreed to. Plus... at this time, we are on one income.
Oh well. I'll try to hold the line on the 3 Emerson knives that I own now.

Well one way to look at it is that Emersons hold their value pretty well and what could be more simple than a knife collection? Three is a good number for now my friend. When you own an Emerson, good things happen. It's inevitable. They're like four leaf clovers only better.

My super will be here today. I keep checking the USPS tracker to see if it has landed yet!!!!
Oh and of course im working from 0800-2300 today

Pix!! ^ :D
Well, no Roadhouse for me as I prefer the Commander.

Must agree. I've had 4 Emersons and the Commander was my favorite of them all. Something about the blade shape, ergos, lockup. I don't know, but that design is killer!

I love the Commander and the Super Commander. Great designs. I also like the CQC15, which is a combo between a CQC7 and a Commander--some of my favorite EDC knives.

That Commander design just speaks to me. I am so glad that I bought that Super Commander right now. You have no idea. The place where I got it still says sold out when I look up the model that I got. I know for sure it was the last one and I was supposed to get it.

My commander is out for work and I swear I'd be climbing the friggin walls right now if it wasn't for this Super. It's an absolute pleasure to have. I have yet to open it up too. This Super is exactly as it was out of the box. Nothing done to it at all and it's broke in well.

It's as smooth as ice opening. The lock engages early and releases easily. The sticky part is over. It's dead centered and words cannot describe the way that huge blade and handle become one piece upon opening. All I have to do is use it and admire the hell out of it. I am truly happy that I got it when I did. Thank you Emerson!

You sound content, newknif.
May I suggest you try an Emerson Framelock sometime.
Insane as this is, I now carry my HD7 and my Jungle Commander.

Got mine yesterday, shouldn't have waited, it is head and shoulders nicer than my mini com. It has replaced my beloved spyderco military as my favorite blade. My only concern is how little lock up the liner has with the blade, hoping it will wear in
