SUPER Commander!

heyz there...coolz knife, but I feel that you should not cut the three slits in the handle...but rather beadblast/sandblast the handle...it would look more coolz...how about anodizing it if it was titanium?

Well, as the proud papa of this baby, I gotta say that I LOVE IT! The milled grooves look great to me, and I couldn't be happier with Neil's committment to this project. I think it's obvious to everyone how much effort he's put into this, and I just want to publicly thank him for doing this.

It's been fun!! (up until last night when my anodizer went up in smoke)

After Paul evaluates it for a while, it will be returned for bead blasting and any other changes that he feels might improve the knife. I would rather not bead blast it until I know there is no more machining to be done on it. As I mentioned, I may enlarge the stop pin holes.

As for the clip posistion, I tried to mount it so it would ride in the same position as the original. As long as I can get two 4-40 screws, 3/8" apart, I can mount it anywhere at any angle!! This Ti' clip is about twice as strong as the original but because of the shape, comes out of the pocket very easily.

I gotta go work on some fixed blades........

All I can say is WOW, That's an incredible job! I like the countersunk threaded pin; what a nice detail. The whole job is first rate.
 
I also think that you should not cut the three slits in the handle. The design looks cleaner with out the slits. Awesome knife!

What is the final name of this knife?
 
I'm with Rogue Spear, BEAUTIFUL knife, but leave it without the slots, grooves, or other embellishment. Clean lines make that knife!

Another name might be, "El Commandante!"

After handling the knife for a while, I thought it needed some grip added to that side of the frame for secure wave opening. At this point, wanted to do it without bead blasting. Remember, this is not grippy G10 here!!
I will be GLAD to either do them with or without slots, beadblast or whatever.
Again, I REALLY appreciate the thoughtful Emails. I'm trying to reply to them ASAP. I'm at about 200 of them right now
