I've owned a regular CQC-7, a mini-Commander, and now have a Super CQC-7.
One thing that I can say is that the difference in "solid-ness" between the CQC-7 and the Super is huge.
I really liked the shape of the mini-commander, and wasn't too fond of the CQC-7, but regarding both, after hearing and reading all the hype about how tough Emerson's are, I have to admit I was dissappointed when I received those two knives. I was expecting beefy, heavy knives with thick liners.
Now, the Super, on the other hand, (as well as the CQC-12 framelock that I owned--but that's a different thing all together!) is that beefy, solid, heavy Emerson that I had imagined.
I've never owned a full sized Commander (although I'd love to handle one), so I can't give you a straight comparison, but I can tell you that the Super CQC-7 impresses me.
