I did some reading on applying a superglue finish.
This post was helpful.

I did have a couple of questions left over. One, how do you keep the glue from sticking you to the things you're gluing, or your fingers together, etc? Will it stick to a rubber glove? Two, how does CA relate to epoxy? I have some wood handle scales that I want to glue and pin on a full tang knife, then finish the wood with CA. I have used epoxy before, but not with CA finish. Can I superglue the whole thing together, or should I epoxy and just use the CA for finish? Thanks, Jason

I would epoxy the handles on then use super glue for the finish.
Use a powder free vinyl glove finger on your finger. Don't scratch your nose.
I put on thin coat and then sand off to fill pores. When they are filled i finish with tung oil. I use one called Formby's.

You can get medium and slow setting CA glue also. I use the slow set CA and linseed oil for friction finishing pens on the lathe. The friction heat will set the glue after it has been evenly spread. You can also get CA glue that needs an accelerator to set. Then you have plenty off time to get it smooth and even. I use Hammertite CA with the accelerator.
