This is one of the most random, and creepy thing that's happened to me that's knife related. What happened was I was taking my dogs for a walk, come back in my yard and see something in my tree, went closer and turns out someone had stuck a cheap Chinese made butcher knife right into my tree :confused:. Not sure whether to laugh at the randomness or be scared because someone actually put a knife in my tree lmao. Also why couldn't someone stick a nice knife in there instead of some Chinese crap.:grumpy: I'm sorry this is so random, but it kind of creeped me out.

Did they have to go far into your yard to do it? Or could they do it from the street/sidewalk?
Did the tree deserve it? :D
 
I wouldn't be worried about it. From what I've learned, if a knife stuck in a tree was meant to be a threat, it would have been thrown there, pinning a note in place (maybe learned from cartoons, but still). Anyway, free knife to experiment with!
 
I'd put on some gloves, grab it with a plastic bag and hand it in to the cops. You know, just in case.

I didn't even think about that. You could have evidence in a murder case right there. Maybe just call the cops instead of trying to handle it.

Murder... of a tree? I think your imagination might be getting a little ahead of you there.
 
If this happened in my area this means if you ran into/pissed some tycoon off and it's usually last warning. Some even hang dead /mangled animals as threat.
 
That has a very specific meaning among some...how shall I put it? "Elements."

It's probably best that you don't know what it means. You'll sleep better.
 
To what Jay said, I live in a pretty country town, not much crime, plus I don't think I've made anyone mad, least I hope lol. And also, what do you mean Marcinek? I'd like to know.

Just messin' with ya'. I couldn't help it.

It was probably just some dopey neighborhood kid whipping his parents' kitchen knives at trees.

Sometimes we could have offended the tycoons and have totally no idea. He took it personal and hence the vendetta begins.
Puzzling right? It's as simple as hired assassins from illegal foreign workers who would do anything for a sum of $$ and then get sent home being RICH.

Anyway it's just a speculation. It could be a bad prank.
 
You could always go to the police station and register the incident, leaving the junk knife. It may be nothing as said....or something. Anyway. If another incident happens you will have the prior occurence registered, and the police will take the situation a little more seriously.
 
All kidding aside, I'd harden up the homefront. A few motion lights, alarm, dog, deadbolts, awareness, ect....
 
Eh, our home is pretty safe, with two pit bulls and Shitzo(Will annoy anyone to death with it's barking) roaming around, along with my fascination of collecting over sized pointy objects and my bad sleeping habits, I think we're pretty good :D .

You forgot the sniper, automated machine guns, armed patrols, landmines, electrified fence, and the hidden pitfalls.
