"Super Steel" vs 5160

You would be better served asking one of the many makers on here to assit, but perhaps itnis woser to seek someone local to you. Good day.

I do realize that but what can i do about my nation customs law, that is why i am asking these mater blacksmiths

Even though CPM3V is not a "Stainless" steel it is not too bad either. One of my customers told me after an extended trip to Malaysia that the 3V steel was excellent and did not rust or corrode at allv with minimal upkeep (rinse blade and dry it).

Im confused, what is it about your local laws that prevent someone there from making it for you but allow someone from overseas to make and send to you?

Nope forging wouldn't be worth it and will probly be overly expensive for you I think 5160 would be a good choice for a rough user(though no stainless). 3-V is great but is expensive and you would probly have trouble finding a maker that would work in it and could heat treat it to its potential.
DR...

A real good reason we stress filling out your profile is that a lot of this conversation could be simpler if we all could see where you live.

It may also allow a maker in your country to offer help or steel.

okay i live in Malaysia
it would greatly appreciated if you could tell me any Malaysia black smith that does custom work

Logan,
You asked these same questions last year in July. Were the answers then not sufficient. You were advised to contact Mohd, in KL, and there were several other makers who posted about Malaysian knife rules. Shipping to Malaysia isn't the problem. Carrying a knife is. Import duty is a fact of life in most countries.

Use the search engine to find Malaysian knife makers, as well as other searches to find knife makers and sellers in Malaysia.

Also, there is a forum under Community Forums for Asian and Australian knife people. You might find more answers there.

Himalayan Imports has a site here, and is very familiar with shipping and laws concerning Malaysia.
