Super Thrower

Saw this discussion and dug out my old Super Thrower(made in Japan). This thing has stood up to years of throwing abuse. I am a bit rusty(the knife isn't though). Is the rule of thumb roughly 1/2 rotation every 7 ft or was it more like every 4ft?
