Beautiful Green Mammoth Ivory Bark, Custom Damascus neck knife by Master Smith Murray Carter.

Carried a couple times in custom slip sheath created by Murray's wife. Nice Kydex neck sheath also included.

7.0" OAL. Ivory Scale = 3.6" Long. Cutting Edge = 3.0"
Very sharp! (Never sharpened).

Very beautiful green ivory bark scales, which I obtained separately from Rolan Quimby who told me: "In my 18 years of scale making I've only had 5 or 6 sets of greenish scales. The blue /green is from the mineral vivianite, an iron phosphate mineral which forms on the surface of a burried tusk when phosporus leaches out of the ivory and combines with iron in the ground and 25-30 thousand years later the color penetrates the ivory. It can range from greenish to blueish to blackish." "I've made thousands of pairs of scales and only had 5-6 green ones and only one as nice as yours!"

Of course you know that Murray Carter, Master Smith, makes beautiful knives and this one is made of his own best custom Damascus steel.

Probably one of the finest neck knives you are likely to see. Unfortunately, I am a folder kind of guy, and this beauty can be appreciated more by someone who will actually use it.

Asking $SOLD shipped, Paypal fees included, in the US.

Of course your satisfaction is guaranteed. :)

David,

That is indeed a beautiful knife. If you are a Gold member, you need to activate that option since only Gold members or above may sell on this forum. All the best with your sale.

Man I wish I could. I've been building a MC collection.
If it's still up in Feb. I'm all over this.

Geode: Indeed I did pay for the re-up of Gold membership and I (think I) did activate that option.

Shortknock27: I don't see the PM but am looking for it.
