Supercharge Your Wool!

The lanolin treatments I've seen have been wash-in. I have some Filson wool pants and coats that say dry clean only, no washing. Are there any spray-on lanolin treatments available that would allow me to get around washing in the lanolin?

I've had a Filson cruiser for ~8yrs. It sees nearly daily use in WI winters & gets washed every spring. I use gentle cycle, cold water, woolite and hang dry. It looks fine. I think this lanolin treatment will be included this spring before I hang it up to dry.

Thanks, mogwai, I appreciate your comment. I know drycleaning should be harder on the fibers than gentle laundering, so I figured it was an issue with the wool getting out of shape from being wet or something. I'm glad to hear that's not an issue, and they can be safely washed. Thanks for the feedback.

My wife just got me a 100% Merino wool sweater in brown for a dollar at Goodwill. Now i need to give it a good conditioning.

Hand wash or gentle cycle might be an important part of cleaning wool.
