Supertool through airport?

I'll be leaving for Colorado on Mon. and want to know if a Supertool will be confiscated going through security if it's on my belt. I don't plan on taking any knives (besides the blade in the Supertool), but the Leatherman will come in handy on the ski hill.

Jeff,

It meets the federal requirements for legal carry, although security officers at airports have the right to refuse anyone they feel is not a good candidate for carry.

Be happy, cheerful, and well-dressed. Put it in the tray with your car keys as you go through the metal detector. Your shouldn't have any problem.

I've carried various knives and tools through airports without a problem.

Peace,

Brian.

I've gone on about 30 trips with a supertool and/or SAK SwissTool and never even been asked to open it. I usually have one of the above two on my waist, and a Leatherman Wave in my carry on.

Worst case scenario is that I've had my bag dusted but that's when I have all my small tools, phone pager palm laptop and yada yada yada in my bag, they can't always make everything out on the x-ray.

Nothing to worry about.

I leave my Super Tool in my carry on. Never had a problem. I do not leave it on my belt or pass it over in the keys basket. I figure the less attention the better.

On a trip to Arizona a month ago I carried my SOG Switchpliers through. Dumped it in the tray, and the guard asked to see it. He opened the sheath, pulled the handle open and looked at the pliers, then closed it and put it back. There is an obvious button on the thing, but he didn't seem to care. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a stick of dyno in it I'm sure.

I use Denver International frequently. My normal practice is to put my SpydieTool in my carry-on. Have not had a problem.
