Maybe I'm just lucky (nock on wood) but I've had NO problems with paypal. It allows customers to pay for knives using credit cards without actually having to be set up to do so. MUCH time is saved. Payment is almost instantaneous, I can ship knives as soon as payment hits my paypal account. I have also had several international payments go very smooth as well.
Instead of spending the the money on Ebay

I was hoping to find some knife materials supliers that accept paypal. For me, this would save time, phone calls, electronic transfers, checkwritting, giving out credit card numbers, etc., etc.,etc.
In addition to my main question. Does anyone else find paypal usefull for SELLING knives??
Would it be handy to use it for buying supplies???
This inquiring mind wants to know

I sure do Neil! Paypal is a great way for folks to make payments for items online. I uese it to buy and sell things.Do you think it's fair for the seller to charge the buyer the 2% credit card fee that paypal charges us? I've seen some folks do that but I haven't yet.

Michael,
I've only had a few credit card payments, so few I forget to mention the 2% thing! Most everyone just sends the usual money payment. I think 2% is still less costly that setting up for credit cards??
I just remembered one supplier that takes paypal is WSSI, Wood Stabilizing Specialist Intl. They are a great source. Do you know of any others?? For blade steels?? Damascus??

Reese Weiland at custom kraft takes paypal. I have only ordered from him once but I will be going back. He seems to be a nice guy and is full of information. I called to order some stuff and he helped me with some folder questions.

I also take paypal for knives that I sell and stuff I buy. I don't charge the 2% but I do kind of figure it in on what I am selling.

And Neil you got mail - questions on the mini mill.

btw- I usually have paypal take the money out of my checking account. I dont think they charge the seller for bank account transactions. (I just checked their policy page. June 6th paypal changed so that business and premiere accounts are charged the same no matter the funding source.)

I have sold some knives through pay pal. Also use it all the time for things I buy on ebay. I don't know if I would let them access my bank account ???????
Take care
TJ.
I won't buy from a source unless they take credit cards. No cash on the internet.
Spoken as a 1 time victum of internet fraud.
The 1st time it's shame on you. The second time it's shame on me

Now that I think of it, the first time I bought from Halpern Titanium, the lady was very nice and let me use paypal to pay for my order.
