"I wouldn't mind you being inside my head if you weren't clearly so crazy."

A "LIGHT" coat of neatsfoot oil on the sheath...easy 'cause too much will make it limp, and Johnson's Paste Wax (yellow can) on the blades.

Paste wax is not bad, but Marine Tuff-Cloth is much better for preventing rust.

For your leather, make a 50/50 mix of neats foot oil and beeswax. Melt them together, LOW heat or you get fire. Pait this mix onto sheath. It will solidify as you apply it. Put sheath on a piece of foil and put it in the toaster oven low heat and the leather will soak up the mixture. Then your good to go! For your blade...Renassance Wax is the BEST, also most expensive. You can mail order it out of Blade Mag.
have fun,

I treat my leather sheathes with Snowseal, a silicon impregnated beeswax, both inside and out. Rub it on then melt it in with a hot air gun on low heat or your intimate other's hair dryer (be sure to wipe off the grip before putting it back). Snowseal gives the leather a nice sheen, keeps it from absorbing moisture pretty well, doesn't harden the leather to any appreciable degree. Haven't seen Tuffcloth available up here in northern Alberta (am still looking), but BreakFree seems to do a good job preventing rust on carbon steel blades (and guns), doesn't gum up or attract dust.
