Sometime ago, I purchased a SureFite Delta folder and put it in the safe for future use. Later, I decided to EDC it and upon closer inspection I found that the locking bar was out of spec. This was not readily apparent and only showed up when I was experimenting with various grips and testing the lock strength. With a fair amount of effort you could push the locking bar across the back of the blade to where it would touch the opposite handle scale.
So ... off to customer service land. I just resigned myself to a wait but figured it would be worth the wait as I really liked the Delta; great features, a very useful blade shape, fine ergos, and a super heat treat as the edge was over the top sharp.
Well, I did have to wait a couple of weeks. But then I got a call from George at SureFire. After reaching agreement on the fact that the Delta was out of spec, George apologized for the inconvienence and told me that I would get a brand new Delta with the new blade configuration. Not only that but it would be shipped overnight and I would get a call back with the tracking number. I got the call back an hour later and I got the new Delta the following day.
Thank you SureFire and thank you George for your excellent customer service. I am now the happy owner of a perfect Delta. The new blade config is very cool. The screwdriver/flipper works like a charm and opens very quickly with nary a flick of the wrist and with a muted snick. Or you can thumb it open with the new opening aperture.
At any rate, great knife and great people to deal with.
