I've finally had enough of my AA mag and would like an E1 for work. Who's got 'em cheap (apart from the dreaded Botach) and which replacement bulb do they take? (I'll have to get a few at the same time as they aren't sold here in Oz). TIA

They are good for close-up work, an excellent replacement for the AA mag. But you won't be able to see up into the grid with it, even with your low ceilings

Thanks, I've belatedly seen Tim's contest and have emailed him. James, we've normally got D cell mags to check out our low grid(you're right!) and they are doing that from the flyfloor anyhow...but all that will change when I win the raffle

Ferret, the E-1 is a neat light. I got mine from Tim also and am thinking about another one for the wife. I mainly use mine while hunting and carry it with a lanyard. Good luck in the contest.

The E1 MN01 Lamp Modules were and are virtually impossible to get hold of... This situation is improving slowly though.

I hope to get a couple spare MN01's as I get nervous without a backup plan...

I carry my E1 with me all the time. It's one of the best flashlights I've ever used - considering it's tiny size and cool "gun-metal" silver metallic colour & styling. The quality and quantity and burntime of the output is amazing!

Bring on the E2!!

I got on ein my stocking this morning---HOHOHO! I love it -- SWEET! ANyway--looks like a great, easily carried, l;ightweight light. Perfect for everyday "cover your butt when needed" light IMHO!

BTW Big Tex--How did you secure a lanyard to yours? I am interetsed...

Sproles, I used a lanyard that held a varmint call. It has a spring that applies tension to the call. I just slipped it under the clip and attached it to that recess in the front part of the light body. I think any company that sells varmint calls should have a lanyard of this type.

Ralph, I don't think Tim has a webpage.

I have plenty of Carley Xenon lamps to fit C/D flashlights. They are extremely bright; send me a SASE; they are $3.50 each, which is my cost. Battery life is about the same as with krypton lamps.

See Carley Lamp thread for further info. Walt

Thanks Walt, I'm still reeling from excess food consumption and am back at work for 2 12 hour shifts, will get back to you when I've got a moment. Much appreciated.

Jerry,
It's a smaller light in all ways/dimensions, It's the same light output, but instead of a 60 minute burntime, it's upped to 90 minutes. It's a very compact light that is a well appointed update to the chubby 3P. Nice color too and if you want one, I still have a handful left- contest ends on Dec 31.

Thanks for the kind words above guys, and no, I do not have a webpage, but intend to sometime in the future (is that vague enough? I've been saying that for about 4 years now.

For several weeks now I've been carrying a gunmetal E1 I got from Tim. It's now my default daily carry light. For its size, it packs a hell of a punch. I love that focused beam and at the same time it gives off an impressive peripheral light as well. You can light up a dark room with this little light with no problem. This along with my M3, I own the night

I don't even laugh at Maglights anymore. Their owners have my pity. Get themselves a real flashlight.
If they don't think a SureFire is worth investing in, a UKE, Pelican, StreamLight, even a PhotonII...etc would be a better choice!

Ferret, I've the 9P and it's plain like Daylight! takes three batteries though, I use it when I need to REALLY see stuff, it lights up like you wouldn't believe...I think I made a believer out of Win Heger and Narruc1 when I met up with them at the Chesapeake Knife show this year, it's like a search light in your hand!

If you be wanting to burn holes in anything, you be wanting a SureFire M6. This is an amazing tool.

The M3T is rather like a compact searchlight - a turbocharged M3 (you should checkout the MN11 225Lu Lamp for the M3!

with a 2.5" reflector. You can project a beam of pure white light incredibily far from such a small flashlight.

Bring on the SureFire 10X "Dominator"!

I can't wait!
