The 10x is the renamed M2000 rechargable replacement for the 9N. It's under the "new products" from the main screen at www.surefire.com Looks like fun!

Does anyone have any guidelines for using the M2 to tan? I have been using my 6Z and Tim is sending me an M2...

I've been contemplating an E1 for a while. I sent an order off to BOTACH a couple of weeks ago and if I'd have known about the E1 I would have ordered one. By the way they (Botach) did everything I needed them to do. Since then I've gotten a UK 2 x AAA and some white Photon IIs. As I already had a SureFire 6Z with the 125 lumen bulb, I thought I already had every niche filled. Now I am not so sure. I get 123a batteries at the commissary for about $3.00 ea. Seeing as how I need another flashlight like I need another knife I really need you guys to give me a reason to buy one!

Thanks

Rick

Hoah! (Its an Army thing!)

Rick, I thought everyone had given the reasons why these lights are great. lol BTW, check this out for batteries. I use them in all my lights.http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1204052283

I would like to add my $.02 on the E1.

Up till now I have always carried a couple of Photons. Great little flashlights, but they were not as bright as I would have liked.

Tim Flanagan talked me into one of the gun metal E1's. He always knows how to forcibly twist my arm on things. ;-) Well anyway my town was hit by some strange weather. We had some frozen precipitation that caused a ridiculous number of limbs to fall on power lines knocking them out. Something like 30,000 people in my county without electricity. This all happens with me away from home, but in the same town, on Christmas day. The home I was at happened to have downed power lines in the yard. If it were not for my E1 it is possible that I could have stumbled, not the most coordinated person anyway, into one of these.

Like many have stated about the best knife being the one you have on you, the best flashlight is definitely the one you have on you.

If you cannot tell I am a huge fan of that little E1.

Big Tex,

I've found with Sanyo 123As that they're not has bright as Duracell Ultra. This is especially noticable with the high output lamps. The 12PM for example is very particular!

The E1 is slightly different becau I've found I can put partly used DL123As in it and it still shines for ages. The SureFire 12B Hurricane is the best way I've found of getting lots of Duracell Ultras for minimal outlay. The 12B has the advantage of being not only a storage box, but also an emergency light - very useful during powercuts.

The E1 is excellent!
Bring on the E2!

Alastair, I mainly use the Sanyo's in the smaller lights like the E-1, Uke's, and the Scorpion. They are bang for the bucks for me. I'm not that demanding on the brightness of the lights. I do have a D-3 but seldom use it since I got the E-1's. I had to get another E-1 for the wife when she saw it. If I keep hanging out here, I may break down someday and get me one of those bright dudes. BTW, how did you come up with that handle? Is that a shoe size or what?

Indeed yes.
And they're really hard to get hold of in England. I have a very good source though, but most shoeshops only go up to a 12 or maybe 13 in a couple of styles.
By the way, that's English Size 15, which I think is American Size 16 (?)

I started with the SureFire 12PM for which the best DL123As are vital. It's only recently I've got an M2 and E1. I'm also planning to get another E1. These are little beauties!
