Ok this question was in my mind for a couple of years and I was shy to ask this, but I'm not sure how it's done after years. Sorry for this stupid question but couldn't resist.

I know a little about hot blueing methods, but I guess you get only one color for the rest of the blade. Heat coloring is not so strong and may destroy the HT, anodizing is applicable to Al and Ti... So far so good, but how on earth you can apply those colors then on a steel blade??? A special chemical bath ?

Emre,
The blade and handles are both heat colored damascus. The two gold stripes are differently colored because of the different texture. This blade and handle are both of the same damascus pattern.

So is it just that the different steels within the damascus color differently at the same temperature?

I wondered the same...

Also heat colored surface won't be durable enough, right? Is there a method that involves coating steel surface with an "anodizable" metal like titanium and then anodizing it??

Edit: After a research I wish to add another question: Is there a chance to make a DIY PVD coating??

Thanks Delbert a lot. I was mistakenly thought those colors were an effect of some kind of chemical bath...
