Has any one built a surface grinder?

Where do you buy the magnetic chuck and the percision movable table to mount the surface grinding motor on?

It would be impossibe to build one cheaper than what an import grinder costs. Many of the discount tool and equipment catologs sell inexpensive surface grinders starting and about $1000.
Magnetic chucks are available from just about every machine tool company including MSC. Cheap chucks suck, good magnetic chucks cost $$$$ Using a cheap one that has no power is not fun

Electromagnetic chucks are best but cost lots of $$$$
I feel the best thing to do is either by an import or contact used machine tool dealers and find a good used, american made surface grinder.
