My wife tired of listening to much whining about a height gauge and surface plate came through and bought me both as a Christmas gift. I'm stoked and ready to give both a try, the surface plate is a 12" x12" peice of 3cm granite which seems very flat after a quick check with a dial indicator and for the price can't be beat.
