im driving to my secret surplus store tomarow and i was wondering if anyone needs anything. thay have boxes of new mill and bastard files for dirt cheep (nicholson), sand paper sheets, disks and belts (norton). tool steel, brass and copper. just wanted to put the word out. im thinking about picking up a bunch of abrasive sheets, these are good qualty in bulk packs. whats a good price per sheet so i can get an idea. thay have belts in all sizes

I don't need anything.

But, what did you mean by a banding strip in your ferric chloride. you mentioned it in one of your for sale posts.

Do you let a piece of steel banding desolve in the ferric chloride? Kind of like a recent post by a guy that had some unwanted copper in his acid, turning the surface of his blade a pinkish color.

alloy banding is where a little bit of the alloying elaments group up in lines through the steel. you then etch the blade with feric chloride revealing the pattern.

Well I don't "need" anything but I would like some 2x72 belts in 40, 80, 120, 220, 320, and 800 grit; do you have an estimate on the price of belts? 600 grit sheet sand paper. For tool steel would they have any 1/16-1/8x1"-2" in A2, D2, M2, or O1? I could also use a 12" half round bastard file. :) If you are interested in picking any of that up and reselling to me.

For prices on sandpaper I'm getting my 220-400 for about 3.30 per 5 sheets and 600 grit for $3.30ish per 3 sheets from the local store.
