Just before Buck closed down before the Fourth, I stopped in one day on a whim (was in the area on a work errand) and asked if Joe Houser was in. I fully expected to be told that Joe was busy and that I needed an appointment, but the receptionist buzzed Joe, told him that one of those pesky Collectors Club people was here to see him (just kidding, she was much nicer than that!) and she said to "Joe will be right down".
And he was!
I had a couple of questions for Joe about past Club knives and he very patiently listened and answered. He took me to a his ofice and let me tell you, when Joe says he's involved in cataloging old models and taking apart some to look for mfg differences, he is not blowing smoke. He has knives in boxes EVERYWHERE, on the floor, on tables, on his desk, little and big piles of almost everything. Of special interest to some of us would be his very nice collection of 532's, with some very rare mis-matched file work models included. Joe has to put up notes to keep the janitors from coming in and vacuuming up small parts ! His office is, it's safe to say, an eyepopping treasure trove for collectors. I wish I could have spent more time there, but Joe had to actually do some work and so did I

A big thank you to you Joe for taking the time to see me and letting me peek at his collection.

Brian,

Thanks for the comments! I especially like the fact that you did not call my office a pig stye! Stop by again when you have more time.

Take care,
