After an EXTENSIVE search, I've located a few clip point Socom Elite's on the secondary market. Anyone who has tried to find one knows what I'm talking about.

I have to say, this knife has become an instant favorite for me. If you like bigger knives in the 4" range, it's hard to beat the Socom Elite. I also had a Socom Delta for a short while and I was not a fan of that blade

I really wish these knives would go back into production again this year.

Any other Socom Elite fans?

Yup. MT Socom Elites rock.

For the amount of cutting edge you get packed into a relatively light package.
A stout blade but ground to nice edge these guys are can still cut as well.
A surprising really comfortable handle you wouldn't really expect giving its shape.
Bunch of various steels used through the years.

The only negative thing I can think of is the tip down clip position only but it didn't bother me one bit considering the overall package you get.

I had an Elite for a short time and was very impressed by for the reasons mentioned by Dantone05.

Mine was a part serrated tanto blade. That, and because it was tip down only was why I traded it off. I do see a plain edge drop point Delta in my future.

Edit to add: I almost forgot that I actually have a mini Socom auto. Very sweet knife but it is tip down as well so I hardly carry it. Along with most Emersons, it's my opinion that the Socom is the epitome of a "tactical" design. Whatever that may mean.

I honestly thought the tip down carry would bother me but it hasn't. It definitely makes the ergonomics better compared to tip up carry knives.

I feel your pain, I have been searching for a while. I don't understand why they don't just make more.

I completely agree. I've called Microtech and they have no idea when they will produce more. I did call nearly every dealer in the US and I found one place that had a tan 2012 combo edge Socom Elite

I would buy a Socom Elite if they made them again. Do you know if they had more than one in stock and would you be willing to share where you found it?

IMO it is there coolest looking knife. I would LOVE a red one with black blade......good luck!

My Socom Elite was my first jumpm into a higher end folder. It became one of my favorite all time folding knife.

I love mine, two minis and a full size (that has been at Microtech for 16 weeks now). Always on the hunt for more if you know where to find them!

I am also a huge fan of the Socom Elite and constantly on the lookout for one. My current favorite EDC is the Socom Delta, but it has started developing a lose feeling lock up and I fear that I may have to send it in for warranty service. I really want the original Socom... Hey, Marfione! Get your shit together and build the knives people actually want!

^The Socom Elite, is one of my all time favorite, Microtech model's!

In my first year here, I purchased maybe 3-4 Socom Elite plain edge CF models. I so regret either selling them, or trading them. Now that these are becoming a rare find, it makes the hunt that much more exciting.
