Dave, same here. We'll be staying at a friends house. DM

Gas $$$$$$$$
oh yeah Transmission is going out in the van... (sniff, sniff) :o
Wont be making it to the Blade show either :(

Dave
I do not want to say no but as it looks I will be stuck at work. I am only about five hours away and if I can get out would like to go not only to see BUCK, BCCI but also to meet some of the great friends I have met on this great site. Thanks all. Stockdog!

i checked with Mr. Pres of the club and he said he had over 150 said they will be there!
on thoes 3 days ...
the main motel was up to about 90% full two weeks ago with jest 10 rooms with two beds left.. about 30+ single bed rooms with queen or king beds
if you have a miltary D card-active retired reserve -you get a room at 84$ !

I now spend more on gas/week to get to work than I do on food... :grumpy:
That makes two of us. I have to fill up twice a week since I travel out of town each week to work. That amounts to about $100 per week for gas. My food bill is way less. Of course if food prices continue to rise, the balance could swing in the other direction again, although at a higher level. :grumpy::mad:

here gas is 3.79
across the state line in va it is 3.54
and north to md it is 3.68
now we get our gas from the same tankers!!!
Why The Freek is that!
i had thought to ask Haebie if he wanted to drive from the seatile air port and see the sights but it may be cheeper to fly the 200 miles!
dont expect the B us H to do any thing ...
why is gas so high... and the oil companys want TAX breaks!!!!
oh and i found that enathonal gets 15 to 20 % less gas milage and adds 5 cents to the cost of a gal!
so much for corn fule!!! 'cides its better in a mason jar i think!
soon the cost of a 110 at wally will go up! long way from post falls to any ware on the east cost!

Around here, they add 10% Ethanol to the pump mixture...and the problem with that is, my Xterra was designed in the late '90's, before they added any Ethanol to the regular gas...and the Xterra oxygen sensor reads the exhaust as being low-octane, and sets a code in the ECU that knocks the spark advance back 6º to compensate, and lights up the "Check Engine" light... :grumpy:

So to get around that (it won't pass state inspection with a Check Engine code), I have to get the next higher octane rating instead of regular...

man i can feel for you brother!
at least it dont stall! i had a montecarlo and i got a tank of ethanol added and the car stalled! worse on a RR croseing of 4 tracks!
had truck behind me push .. cost over 90$ to have the carb flushed and rebult with new needle valve and seat... was told it was common to happen if your vehical never used it before and you had acumaleated moisture/junk in the tank.. should have cut the gas line ( with a 110) and purged it when it first hestated..

I agree with wh4f...If gas hits $4/gal, I'm a no-go for sure... :(
(It's $3.67/gal here now)

dugh again.... maybe it was notjest the hard dirve that crashes...:(

No! :p I am planning on flying...But like Mike, I drive ~ 1 hour to work...and with only 15mpg, it adds up...Because of the snow here in Winter, it is better to have a 4x4 than a Prius... :o

(I have yet to read anywhere on how the new electric cars do in snow)

I drive a 4X4 Ranger P/U (18mpg) 161 miles one way to work. I stay there and go back and forth on weekends. If gas prices go up much further, I may have to pull back to going home once every two weeks. Let's see how the wife likes that one! :thumbdn::eek:

Is that Ranger a 4-cyl??? The Xterra is V-6...and 6 years old... :( I drive to & from work every day (the three dogs like to eat regularly)... :p

Maybe you could give the wife a Lowe's Credit Card and point her to the Honey-Do list...

I'm waiting for the furnace repairman (no heat), so I'm doing some figuring...

If the price of gas stays the same for the next 12 months ($3.67/gal), I will spend 5% of my annual income on gas alone...That's 1/20th of my Annual Income, before taxes, withholding, insurance, medicare, etc... :(

To better put that in perspective, I bring home ~50% of my paycheck...So that gas percentage is actually 10% of my take-home pay...That's 1/10th of my cash...

My mortgage is 50%...My utilities (and food) add up to 40%...So...I will have nothing left...for anything... :(

You can expect to see another dozen or more Buck knives on eBay this Summer... :grumpy:

Nah...it's a six cylinder. What? Are you nuts?? You want me to give my wife another credit card?? Actually she hates going into Home Depot or Lowes because she doesn't like the smell. The honey do's are another problem. I spend most of my weekends trying to get things done around the house (particularly this time of year) and the list gets bigger every week. I mean...when am I supposed to find time to sharpen my knives??
