Survey Says, this is what you carry most...

Availability does seem to be the major problem. We do have a number of dealers that do carry full line, but most don't.

Frank. We don't do many consumer shows any more. We still do the Del Mar Fair in San Diego and two NY Knife shows. We work the Blade show in Atlanta and the Spirit of Steel show in Texas, but little or no sales are done there.

Has anyone else noticed that we of the knife nut persuasion seem to really prefer plain edges over serrated or even partially serrated blades?:D

Sal: What are your feelings on this, do you prefer serrations or plain edges on a knife you carry?

Sal, when you have the time I would sure like to know when and where the Spirit of Steel show is going to be. Thanks for your time. Jeff

Hi William. It depends on what I'm doing. I carry plain, serrated and occassioaly combination. When I'm testing steels or grinds, I carry plain edge and sharpen at 30 degrees inclusive. For sailing, serrated.

Jeff, Mesquite, Texas SEP 27,28,29. I believe it is now a Knives Illustrated show.

Thanks Sal. I hope you guys bring along some Lynx prototypes! I'd love to see it.

I wouldn't want a newbie reading this thread to get the idea that the Endura and Delica are "cheap" knives and the other Spydies are "the good ones."

The fact is, an Endura still costs, at the very least, $50, which is more than most folks pay for a knife. And that's because it's a very good knife.

Ever since I got my Delica--not my first Spydie by a long shot, but my first FRN-handled one--I've used the Delica/Endura combo as a benchmark. Whenever I see the latest competitor's offering, I ask myself, "Exactly how is this really better than a basic Spyderco?"

That question has saved me lots of money and wasted time.

Fair point Shmackey, its easy for us SpydieKnuts to see the Delica and Endura as the 'basic' models in the same way a person who is into say proper Hi Fi sees certain brands and models as good but not what you 'want' to own and use all the time. Um, that did not sound quite right? What I mean is after getting the Endura I was so impressed I wanted even better! For 95% of users the Delica and Endura are probably more than enough, hell with VG-10... I think they would be enough for 99% of users! A VG-10 Military would rule! Then again I would buy a VG-10 ANYTHING! From Spyderco;) ...

Well! That's just great. The prize was a POLICE model and no one liked it and yet joined in contest? And now, not even the winner is going to keep it??? People!! This is what I think is called a SNAFU. Recount! Recount!

Krizzard. out.
