Survey Says......Why have you sold the CRK's you've sold

I try to keep my collection to around 30 CRK's. That gives me a reason to sell a few of the excess CRK's that I have.
Mostly, to help other CRK enthusiastic folks get what they're wanting. Being left handed, I just realized I had 13 lefty's, sold one to a great member here because he was looking for a regular LH Sebenza.

I almost always sell off one to fund buying a new one! The only one I sold because I didn't care for it was my ivory Mnandi, which I felt needed to be babied and I wasn't willing to do that.

I did just sell a really rare one recently, but I have 4 more from the same series, so it doesn't sting so much. That, and I'd never warmed up to the design on that one like I did the others. I needed to offset the cost of an even more rare one.

I recently bought an older "P" from someone here with a CR unique. LW, was that you I got that from? I've literally grabbed so many in the last 6 months that I can't keep up.

No it wasn't, I'm still looking for one of them. It's the only link I'm missing in the CRK graphics timeline, an un-numbered P. Want to trade yours for a small Native American?

No sir! This is one that will go to my grave with me. Mine is a very likable Chris made unique. I can will it to you though. I never had children and as long as my wife doesn't get it and an acceptable American does I'll be happy. It never effected me much on where products were produced until all this came down with my wife and our own immigration services unwillingness to protect Americans (it's quite the opposite from that). Now I look first for things American made before purchasing. And since the USCIS is run by our very own Homeland Security I wouldn't feel too secure if every American knew what my research has turned up. I, quite frankly, wish that I had stayed ignorant of what I now know.

I'm very American, even have some Native blood in me.

Wish I could remember who I got this one from. That's what happens when you get old. What was this thread about again?

Sold mine cause I'm a dummy! I had gotten a new Large Micarta 21 for $350 (Canadian $$'s) which was a super super deal (and no, it wasn't fake, stolen etc.). Held onto it for a while then caught the 'custom' bug and sold it to fund something else (didn't sell at a profit). DUMB! Been missing it every since... love micarta...

Strange as it may sound ... I just grew tired of most of the ones I used to like and collect. Actually, am pretty much getting out of the the production knife market and selling or gifting things off here and there. There are a few CRKs that I plan to keep for "the long haul" ... but for the most part, am now just concentrating on knives by a select few custom makers. Those who know me well, know who those makers are!

Well, I guess I am on the opposite side of this. I only have a few CRK folders and I really love my Box Elder Burl mnandi.

I am actually looking for old style mnandis with Lignum vitae, mammoth bark or any especially interesting grain or steel.
