Are there some survival entrepeneurs out there? I'd love to see someone come out with a survival billfold. My version would go something like this:
A nylon trifold much like the one made by Eagle Creek or JanSport, if you are familiar with those. Only I would make them a tad bigger. Both of these billfolds have a zippered coin purse. My survival billfold would have 2 instead of 1 zippered coin purse. This is were I could put some survival goodies (just like I do now) like the small ferrocium Greg has on his website. Pick your favorite goodies to stuff here. I also keep a spare key to my car and a can opener in mine.
There are two "bill" compartments on the standard models, one zippered and one unzippered. Within the zippered compartments, I would add 3 vertical compartments across the length of the billfold. Here you could put more survival goodies, like a couple bandaids, some snare wire and maybe a flat survival "tool." Also what might fit here are some survival cards like these:

The top row shows some Brunton cards that I believe are currently available. They include a small compass you have to float on water to use. There is also a fresnel magnifying glass you can use to read the cards and maybe use in firestarting (don't know if it works or not). The larger cards, shown below are some survival cards I've had since the 70s that were copywrited by Lee Nading (1976) and are too big to fit in my billfold. But the information on them is better imo (although false solomon's seal is listed as solomons seal, which is quite different in terms of edibility).
Anyway, the cards are durable and with the fresnel lens, quite readable, so it's a great way to carry a lot of info in a small package.
And with the handy dandy survival billfold, it will ALWAYS be on your person, rain or shine.
I also see the possibilites for two versions of this. One version can be used as modified above for your standard billfold, and another billfold could be made out of something heavier and stiffer, like leather, and used to carry only survival gear. Maybe a billfold with one large zippered compartement to put your minisurvival kit in. I would buy both if available.
Whaddya think?

I get some pleasure from finding a relentlessly peaceful use for a combative looking knife.
