I saw them demonstrated at an noutdoor expo once. They really do cast like a bigger pole. Looked like they lived up to the claims and seemd to be sturdy enough for the job
They are a little spendy. I have one and now use it for backpacking trips (unless I'm specifically going out for fly-fishing). It's very robust and breaks down further for packing. Casting works very well, and it also works on smaller streams with a lot of overhead vegetaion. There are more cheaper options (hand casting, improvised poles, etc.), but if it fits your niche, it's worth it.
