Looking for a folder that functions like a survival / bush Knife.

Thinking single blade [no SAK].Drop point 3-4" long [3.75 perfect]

Good steel what ever is less likely to chip [D2?]
Good thumb ramp,choil.
Handle synthetic -micarta ,G10 etc
Frame lock or other secure locking mech.
Needs to be carried concealed 4-4.5 closed

Sounds tactical but not looking for Stider,Hinderer,ZT etc.
Maybe more in line to Dozier
The answer is probably obvious but I can't find it
Closest has been BM. Doug Ritter -nice ,but not really heavy duty.

spyderco para military d2 meets most of the criteria on that list, maybe check it and its big brother the military out, they excellent knives.

Hest folder looked tactical but they make great survival stuff -I'll check 'em
The military is a good Knife - not beefy enough [imo]

I'll second the....

how about a HEST/F?

I third that.

The blade is nice and thick, should be able to take a good amount of abuse for a folder.

The rotoblock is also a nice feature that improves reliability under hard use.

I am eagerly awaiting mine.

Yep, from what I've seen so far, the folding H.E.S.T. will probably be your best option.

I have a spyderco tenacious nice but not robust.
Maybe para or manix is more hefty.

The HEST has some good features .blade /size/sidelock .
But whats with the logo on the handle

Haha...that's the DPx "Mr. DP" logo. If it really bugs you, DPx is also releasing a limited edition "sterile" version without any logos/markings. :) Check out their website or the DPx subforum here for details.

MR. DP will only appear on LE HEST/F knives, unless you placed an order stateing you dont want it there

It depends on the environment, but most quality folders will be a help in a survival situation, The big trick is to have it with you when something disasterous happens. So search in the range of knifes you like to EDC. This is the way to realy have it when needed. No need to have a knife so big its difficult to use among people.

For me a Delica is sturdy enough. I have used mine while moosehunting, mountaincamping, construktion work, foodpreparation, making campfire, to name a few areas it has worked. Its able to hold its VG-10 edge for a while and its possible to field sharpen and its light to carry and friendly enough to use almost everywere.

Reads to me like either the ZT0550 or ZT0551 would meet your needs. Don't get wrapped up in the knife being tactical or not, it's just a word. The question is whether or not the knife meets your needs.
I really like the BM710 in M390.

Nirre - Very well said .
I try to edc an all around knife - usually BM ritter mini grip / Sequel /Sm Sebe /Alias II they are all around same size.
They are all capable but I think I would be OK carrying a bit more heavy duty . Not looking for 1/2 pounder mind you .
Honestly the large Sebe is about the perfect size ,solid Ti handle and lock up make it strong ,Steel is very good .
Only issue would be handle /grip could be more comfortable
Hollow grind may not be as durable as other types

Also take a look at the Spyderco Gayle Bradley. It's pure beef.

Oohh.. good choice. Also the Manix 2 or maybe a Benchmade Bone Collector.

For strength and simplicity I immediately think of titanium frame locks, so maybe a Sage 2, Bradley Alias or if you can find one a Benchmade 750 Pinnacle. I can assure you they can stand up to continuous use. Sorry, I went back and read your list again and saw you want synthetic handles, so I assume that means no all Ti knives, but you mention frame locks, so maybe if 1/2 Ti is OK you could adapt to all Ti?

How about a Benchmade 710? It's a classic design.
