Survival Folder ?? Does it exist ? not a sak

After a little thinking.
What do you expect to use the knife for?
In nature:
I know a lot about taking care of myself in the forests and mountains. Bouth in summer or winter. I cant realy see the need of a big and sturdy knife. I need the knife to be sharp and strong enough to make campfire. Just hope to carry a lighter or matches also when needed. A knife and a lighter is 1000% better than two knifes and no fire gear. Its good to have a knife making a shelter but it hasnt to be a big knife as I dont need to build for the future, just temporary. How strong the knife may be I would never dig with it as it dulls the blade.
If we talking about a campingtrip going over into disaster and a survival situation Its nice to have a plan. I would take a fixedblade of scandipattern and medium size and it is enough.
But if unexpected a small slipjoint would be helpful and a medium sized lockback would be enough.

In city environment,
I imagine: burning house, big car crach, explosion in subway, masses of people in riot and panic. I need a sharp knife, Mabye to cut myself loose or someone else, mabye some light amatur surgery if I can understand how to do it. If I would carry two items the other one should be a sturdy screwdriver.
As I never can know when this could happen I would be stuck with my EDC probobly a medium stockman or a SAK, but best would a Medium lockback be. I think It could do most things for me that needs a knife.
Otherwise have the eyes open around you and use the things around you to survive and help the situation.

Edited to write that a flashlight is a good thing, mabye one of the best as the Night in the nature is dark and The electricity in the city may be broken. Its not good injuring yourself in the dark if the situation is benefitted by good healt.
Also if a disaster happens always look for water as soon as possible and keep it until later, the hygiene situation often gets bad in populated areas and you cant live and be active if to much dehydrated.

+1. Always tailor gear to your uses. I know for wilderness survival, my concern is carving/cutting ability, simplicity, ergonomics, and corrosion resistance. For urban emergencies, I supplement whichever knife I carry with a small pry bar in my satchel (you know...like Indiana Jones's) and a Leatherman Surge.

Also, I know this is almost heresy on this forum, but other equipment that you have on you may prove just as valuable, if not more so, in an emergency than a knife. I always have on or near me a way to start a fire, a bandana, a length of cord, and a flashlight.

To answer your question (finally), take a look at the American Lawman. I can't imagine what you could do to that knife in normal use to make it fail. Plus, I like the blade shape and geometry, and the ergonomics are quite good. I had to bend the clip out a little bit and sand the G10 down so it wouldn't ruin my pockets, but it's a fine knife at a good price. Maybe not as beefy, but still very capable, are the perennial favorites, the Spyderco Endura and the Benchmade Griptilian. I don't think these are as overbuilt as the Lawman, but neither would fail in normal knife use, and both have long track records proving this.
