• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Survival gear just crazy enough to work!

Some cool stuff on there. I like that pod that hangs from the tree, that's crazy! And it does look like a bear punching bag, lol.

Some cool stuff there :)

I like the alien pods and the radio/transmitter

Cool link. I think the trailer is the coolest but I bet its pricey as crap.

I'm not so sure what the sac is for, it doesn't look to have any real use.

Dang, I saw this on wired.com and came over to post it, but you're too fast!

Some pretty silly stuff in there. There are a couple of things that look interesting, but Santa's testicle does not look very practical.

I have been to a car show that had a trailer just like it if not the same one.. It was about 5 grand. Very very well build and thought out by someone that knew what he was doing... worth the money if you wanted to get into tough areas.

Holy crap, I laughed so hard I blew coffee out my nose !
Look at the page with the inflatable sailing dinghy...seriously:
The boat assembles easily and includes an inflatable hub with a base skeleton made out of carbonite

If you're not laughing already, here's a bit about carbonite:
wikipedia said:
Carbonite is an explosive made from such ingredients as nitroglycerin, wood meal, and some nitrate...

I'm guessing that's how 'carbon fiber' was translated for the press kit and manual ? Is there a way to factor explosives into a PHRF rating ?
Although........if you can detonate it you'll get lots of fish so I guess it's a valid survival tool ! Note to self: get out of the boat first !

I like the trailer but I should go re-read the thread about protecting ideas, lol. I had an old tent trailer that I stripped to bare steel and re-decked. I found a truck tent that needed some TLC at a yard sale and naturally my brain said "how can I make these work together". Unlike so many of my other 'projects', this one was actually pretty easy - especially if you use an axle that matches your truck: 3 more spares and a spare ring/pinion!. It's funny but it later became a 10 foot travel trailer and now it's a flatdeck utility trailer.....

The hanging pod thing was discussed here not long ago, and the concensus was less than favourable IIRC.

The survival valise/pod/keg thingy was interesting though. With a sufficiently robust container it could be air dropped en masse and it could always be a good addition to the JIC junk in the basement...

I like the camp trailer. I ran across a very simuliar design a few years ago called a King Kamper. They were around $35K +/- depending on the options IIRC. There were some different approches taken and from what I remember the King Camper looked more expensive based on the differences. The Campa is probably less expensive.

I wonder if Campa would donate one to my team?
