Survival "Guru/Expert" Knife Shootout fting. Tracker, Surv Tac & Hellion

this was a great review, been checking the tracker knife out. think I found what I have been searching for.my kukri are to big to pack around, need a lighter/smaller chopper do it all, was looking at kabar warthog too.

Thanks bud, glad you enjoyed it. You'll love the way the Tracker rides on your belt, so out of the way, forget it's there.

PS. Keep in mind the differences in the Tracker models, sizes vary quite a bit between the T1 and T3. I'd like to try a T1 myself, it's a beast though.

thanks for this great review. it was a little "unfair" that the T3 is not the fullsize version of the tracker.

Excellent review. Thank you for the time and effort you invested on this. I've always liked the looks of the Tracker, but never handled one and questioned its practicality/usability. Thank you for clarifying the usability and practicality of the Tracker for me.

Thanks for the great review. I prefer knives along the lines of the Becker and Esse (and the TOPS Dragonfly or Ontario Blackbird SK5) but I appreciate the effort that you put into the shootout, Machine26. I am looking forward to your next review.

Unfair? I dunno. I think pitting these knives up against a mora would be unfair. And not to the mora. ;)

I have to admit, even I stared a thread once questioning the Hellion and Surv Tac, but since then, I bought a Hellion Elite and it actually works.

To be honest, I love the way the knives look. (they look cool) However, none of them would really be for me. They have too much going on for me. I like simple knives to use.

If you like really simple looking knives, and want something thats tough, great at bushcrafting, and made of 154CM, check out the Ontario Blackbird SK-5.

If you don't want that surv tac I'd certainly take it off your hands for you!

Machine26,

If a more "traditional" FFG 3/16" large knife was in the mix, how would it have done in this test?

Honestly, all three of these knives look like their design gets in the way of being useful for their purpose.

Although none of the knives in the review fit my personal preference in a survival knife I found your review to be very well executed and look forward to reading more of your reviews.
