survival knife concept

First, I am no designer, this is just something that kinda popped into my head last night and I just drew it up. I don't know how practical it would actuall be, but to me it seems like a cool concept. What it is(in theory) is a PSKK that is compact like a folder, but sturdy as a small fixed blade(not sure if that's possible) The idea is a locking pivot, rotate the knife open, lock the pivot pin in place, and the blade can't fold closed due to the pivot lock.

It also closes backwards. The idea here is you can use it like an ulu while closed, and this knife is going in a tin or kit so you don't need to have the edge coverd by a handle.

The handle is easily removable, and the blade has holes so you can lash it to a stick to use as a spear( I was thinking fish, and some of the slower, dumber game out there)

I don't know if I'd want Scandi or flat ground with a convex edge. 1095 or o1 for the steel, I'd prefer micarta for the handle.

what do you all think? A worthwhile concept, or a total waste of time? Please be as honest or ruthless as you can. I'd really like to know if this is a concept worth pursuing. And if any of the outstanding makers on this forum want to try please let me know

IIRC, Buck did or does offer a blade that rotated into the handle. Better men than I will add more, I am sure.

makes me think of the blade-tech ulu knife. i don't know if it is still concept or if production has started on these...neat concept though.

personally i'm not a fan of the idea of lashing my blade to a stick to stab something...i'd rather just use a pointed stick and keep my knife on my belt.

that Extrema Ratio is intense! The lock concept isn't quite what I had in mind, but similar. I'm also wanting thin and compact

I have to agree with Simon here, I would much rather not chance losing my blade despite having multiple blades on my person in the woods/survival scenarios.

It still looks like a viable knife.

Maybe look at it more like a blade only with the idea of making the handle in the field. Design it around the Ulu style so put more of a back onto it.

I dont think of it as an only knife, this in you pack or horizontal in the small of you back would be handy, I know I would like a spear head available, as well as a good slicer.
