Survival Knife

Ok, I didn't tell you guys that I ordered a Brute the other day and was dead set on the Brute from day one.:p :D  Thank you all for your responses, they are very appreciated. I just got it today and here's what I think so far, I LOVE IT! Yes, it's a little hefty but I like it. It's not a wimpy knife it has some balls. I have been wearing it for two hours so far and it's not bad at all. You know it's there but it doesn't weigh you down or get in to the way to much. The blade is IMO the pefect size for a knife that can serve has either a weapon or tool. I like it...I like it a lot. Thanks guys...

You guys have gotten me curious about the transgressions of Lynn Thompson. I'll have to do some searches to see what this is all about.

Great suggestions from a knowledgable bunch of folks here!I will suggest the Ontario RAT knives(great buy),The becker line(0170-6C is a great steel),the blackjack knives new or old,the Marbles knives,SOME of the Cold Steel knives, and maybe some Chris Reeve pieces in the aftermarket.Bottom line is that with the choices of great quality knives on the market today you cant go wrong!

OK, I think I know what all the uproar is about now with Lynn Thompson. I found out about his Blade Show comments in the Nov. 2003 catalog, retrieved my copy, and read it for myself.

I'll quote from page twelve and the section about "High Speed Operators:"

We despise these dogs.

Holy Cow!!! - I don't think I've ever read such a strongly worded attack on a competitor. No wonder people are so riled up.
