You're in a survival situation and can only have one single bladed knife,( no multi-blades or hatchets). Which knife would you choose and what blade length? ( Bear Gryll's?)

My Busse SAR-6. Six inch blade. Next would an ESEE-5. I think 5 or 6 inche blades are overall best for survival...just my opinion.

Motts I own a Busse ASH but was thinking a thinner edged Busse in 5-6 inch (a la SAR) would be a near perfect choice.

Of the knives here at the house now, my old Cattaraugus 225Q.

Either my convexed USMC or Bushlore.
Both have served me well and do everything i need them to.

But if these were unavailable, The Bear Grylls no doubt :p:D

esee6 for me, after giving it some more thought. I would take one of 4 knives, esee6, esee5, cr green beret, bk7. I have carried and used all 4 alot and have complete confidence in them. My sheaths are all set up with small survival kits with things I find handy in the woods as well, for comfort and for saftey.

If you're already in a survival situation, I don't think you'd still have much choice. It would be the one you have with you.

a CRKT Ritter RSK Mk5, not even 2 inches. I want a challenge, a BK2 would make it too easy!
But if i were to answer the question seriously, i would say any big heavy chopper.
