Survival Knives with Saw on back

I really like blades with saw backs also, like the Beck tracker. I heard that David Beck isnt making them anymore is that true? Maybe some custom maker can make a copy of it. The patent, for the design should be gone by now and there are several versions on the market now that are similar. I like the Jensen version, but would like an agressive saw back. Any custom makers want to make one.

Hey Bel, what's up? LOVE your new knives!

Anyway, I came on here to say that I have 4 knives with sawteeth, 2 Dave Beck's and 2 Jack Crain's. I've always had a facination with them and I think that they add alot to the value of a "Survival" knife.

If you don't have sawteeth on your knife, you probably won't miss them, but if you do have them, I'm sure you'd find a use for them.

I have a British book from the early 80's called "Survival" with a chapter devoted to the Wilkinson Sword Survival Knife which had sawteeth on it. In the book they use the sawteeth to notch and score wood, and to work animal bone into useful tools.

Brian is right about TOPS... Having dealt with Mike Fuller ALOT, I know they are constantly SLAMMED with work.. The last thing on thier list is being on the "Net" Maybe that will change, but for now they perk along quietly making good tools for LOTS of people...

Back in the 80's I almost bought a Lile Rambo knife, I think back then they were around $600-1000. Boy I sure wish I did.
you can buy them still! they arent cutom made by lile they are made by united cutlery. i bought 1 because i love first blood. i grew up with the movie and have always loved knives, so naturally my love for his knife led me to buy it and make similar knives with hollow handles and sawbacks.
