Survival knives

I'll chime in here if I may being a noob and all. Hi everyone by the way. I asked the same question on another board about the Becker 7,9. I bought the BK9 from Tomars Ka Bar for 65 bucks and could not be any happier. I opted for the micarta scales as well which rounded my bill out to 100 bucks. I don't find it cumbersome in the least and will buy the BK7 as well. Honestly who guts a trout with such a knife?

As far as its function to cut, chop, split, shave and hammer it's perfect IMO.
Any work more for detail will involve a pocket knife I never leave the house without.

My vote is for the Becker BK's.

Welcome to BF!! Good first post. :D

I will say that I do love my BK9 as a 'big knife'. It's surprisingly nimble. And it comes with the little BK13 for finer tasks like food/game prep, etc.

I love big knives.I bought a Fehrman 10" Hoods Woods before they sold out.In all honesty though if I was really going to survive in the wilderness I would rather have a 10" Tram and a Mora #1. You can get both for under $20.
