Survival Novel

Yeah Matt Brackens 'Enemies Foriegn and Domestic', 'Molon Labe' by Boston T Party, and for a monster read try 'Unintended Consequences' by John Ross. Excellent Fiction/survival/educational.

Isn't it against the Patriot Act to read books like this?

I recently read Lucifer's Hammer and thought it was a lot of fun, and an easy read. You'll enjoy that.

If you're ready for something a little meatier, with a bit more literary heft, like OldPhysics mentioned, Jack London is absolutely required reading if you haven't read it yet--lots of adventure and survival yarns. Good stuff. And then there's Cormac McCarthy's The Road -- which is probably most heart wrenching survival story you'll ever read, and I can't recommend it enough (it's been made into a movie with Viggo Mortenson that will see a theatrical release later this year).

Sounds like Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.

Definitely a good read.
