Looking at the picture and description of Extreme ratio survival knife from a recent thread got me wondering what you guys carry and attach to your knife sheath? Pictures would be great.

Weird to see him use the edge of the blade to strike the fire rod .
Other then that I think he has a very sound idea for the sheath.

Effer, who makes the sheath in your picture, I like it.

My old USMC Kabar is in an equally old leather sheath. No attachments though I sometimes think about adding a small stone and ferro rod.

I've recently been adding extra loops on my sheaths to provide for extras if I need them, though currently the only extra I need is my cell phone.

I carry a SOG Multitool and Blastmatch on my camping/bob gear it kind of cuts through the BS of searching for a million little things in a PSK.

I carry my survival gear separately.. I don't want anything too heavy hanging from my belt...

I like to keep things simple. The only thing I ever attach to my sheath, is my belt! :)
As far as creating sparks from a Ferrocerium flint, I've used my knife, a Mora, from day 1. I use the edge of the blade closest to the hilt. That's for me an area that won't affect use of the knife. I also always have a piece of a metal cutting hacksaw blade. Using the non-toothed edge creates a good spark, and the toothed edge can come in handy for other purposes.

Using a carabiner, I have a firesteel and a 35mm film can of tinder supplies attached to the sheath's beltloop. However, I often take it off and put it in my pocket.

I really can't tolerate heavy dangling stuff at my side, it just makes walking uncomfortable (and even more climbing), but that is just me. :p If I were to have my survival stuff on my belt I'd prefer a dedicated pocket to be attached to my belt. I still carry a firesteel and a sharpening stone in the knife's sheath's pouch. A small Vic multitool finds it way in sometimes.

When I'm hiking, hunting or camping, I add a led light, ferro rod and some charcloth to my neck knife sheath with a ranger band.

Same here. If my sheath has a firesteel loop I will use it,that is it. The bits and pieces of my mini-kit go in my pockets.
