survival situation...Hot Sauce?

Hot Sauce from Hell is my favorite... three drops will light up your eyeballs, cause your ears to sweat, and probably kill off any stray viruses hanging around...

Well after reading the thread I would have to agree with swiping a few hot sauce packets from taco bell. However, it might be cold enough to freeze the little buggers, so I would also go with some dry cayenne powder too as a backup. freezing wont affect it and if that isn't hot enough for you then dry and grind some halapeno or habenere seeds to mix in with the cayenne. A little goes a long way.
Thanks,
Del

I carry a small container of Tapat'io. Just enough tang to let ya know you're still alive and very good flavor.

Check out Togarishi (Japan) available at any Asian market. It's a dry mix of chilis etc. It comes in a strong glass container about 3/4" by 2". It's not as hot as liquid mixes, but has a nice flavor.

I also carry a double shaker with Cayenne pepper in one side and salt in the other....the Cayenne helps to stop bleeding !!!!

I do more or less the same, usually three film canisters, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Cayenne + water makes a good gargle if you have a sore throat (also works good when Spot dies and you bury him in the back 40 and don't want animals to dig him up... sprinkle a couple of packs of cayenne in the dirt over the grave).

I can only think of two things that may be bad about the hot sauce. One would be the salt content and the amount of water required to conterbalance it. The other consideration is would the hot sauce contribute to diarrhea? The problem with diarrhea is that it causes body to lose lots of water.

keep in mind though that the amount of salt in Tabasco is minuscule to the amount of salt one sweats out when stressed (as in a survival situation). Its good to repalce salt!

goes great with MREs, I was eating the cheese omelete, and said, "boy does this need a kick!"

Da Bomb takes no prisoners INMHO,but what may be more important is that any hot sauce would improve the most important thing in a survival situation.... a good mental attitude by simply making things better.

Tabasco also cleans brass, which comes in handy as I have four brass framed Bucks I like to rotate into use in the great outdoors.

Is that so? Huh! Gotta try that sometime.

Do you apply it like Brasso?
