Survival Story

Mr Crane ,who died fairly recently , was reluctant to talk about his experience. I have lived here in the interior of Alaska for the last 30 years and having experienced -50 makes this story even more amazing.

Great story . Stuff like that makes you wish people were more trusting nowadays to leave such fruits behind for fellow travelers.

I like the last line:

"The benevolence of three Alaskan trappers had made it possible for an inexperienced and inadequately equipped lieutenant to survive for a prolonged period, unprotected in the harshest imaginable conditions."

TF

How about that. A place so harsh everyone cooperates. A good example of how adversity creates a common respect.

I wonder if he ever restocked the cabins that saved his life? Did he return the rifle? There must be allot more to the story.:)
