I tried to find more about survival outdoors and I was looking at a few titles available on the market:

50 Outdoor Skills - DVD
Survival Basics I&II - DVD
AZ of Bushcraft - on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkRlGEaTjAk

an a few others that I don't recall the exact names ... but all of them are just basic explanations suitable for somebody who never spent a night in the woods.

Have you seen any other movies ... at least intermediate? :)

How To Stay Alive In The Woods By Bradford Angier.

And the videos offered by Hoods Woods are really good. :)

There are a lot of good DVDs out there on wilderness survival, as well as related outdoor skills. Perhaps my signature will offer some assistance. . . :)

Wilderness Survival by Gregory Davenport
SAS Survival Handbook by John "lofty" Wiseman

If you are interested in 'skills' only here's my suggested list! I OWN all of these and many more, but these are my TOP PICKS and suggestions to EVERYONE where to start!

VIDEOS:
1) Woodsmaster series by Ron and Karen Hood! Link to their website http://www.survival.com
I wish these had been around 25 years ago when I started out, the learning curve with these videos is FANTASTIC!!

BOOKS:
2) 98.6 Degrees The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive! by Cody Lunden

3) Bushcraft: Outdoor Skills & Wilderness Survival by Mors Kochanski

4) Survival: A Manual That Could Save Your Life by Chris Janowsky

5) Naked Into The Wilderness: Primitive Wilderness Living and Survival Skills by John McPherson & Geri McPherson

6) Naked Into The Wilderness 2: Primitive Wilderness Skills, Applied & Advanced by John McPherson

I also recommend the Hood DVD's. He really knows his stuff, and doesn't take himself too seriously.
