since among the litter in the woods cigarette butts and beer cans are probably one of the most abundant things, this sounds useful

In case anyone's interested the fire was made using a fire steel (no biggie) and a cigarette filter is not made of fiber glass (thank goodness). It's made of cellulose acetate according to (what else) The Wiki. The vid made me wonder of what ciggy filters are made. Now we both know.

Cigarette butts can be considered a possible tinder-of-opportunity since it is a fairly common component of litter. I don't think it's necessary to watch the video if you can push the "I Believe" button that CB's can take a spark from a ferro rod.
