Whether it's your own stuff for sale you're shilling or not, it's still spam.

Cheaperthandirt has that same whistle. I would be careful with Dealextreme though. IIRC, they sell mostly counterfeit knives.

A survival whistle with a pea is not a survival whistle. Pea-less is the way to go.

I dont generally like these things, A Fox40 and a Silvia compass separetly made would be my choice.

take it from the lifeguard.. pea-less is good if you want it to work regardless of water etc.
fox 40, regular and the little one are both good options. they function as soon as you pop your head out of the water.
the storm whistle and its little version do have a hard plastic pea, but still functions wet & under water.

maybe 7 years ago they didnt have one?
the current model has one, in the top chamber.
might be able to backlight the **** out of it and illustrate with a pic.. will try.

Pea or no pea the Storm whistle is still so darn loud that it is my first choice in survival whistles.

I EDC a shaved down Fox 40 due to its size, but my camp gear has the storm in it.

The walmart in my area has the Fox 40's on sale for $1, I just picked up a nice assortment of orange, yellow and GITD ones :) You might want to check your local walmart and see if they have the same sale,

wow, i think retail is closer to $7? maybe $5

good deal, either way!

I just picked up two yellow micro fox 40's for 7.50 and thought it was a good deal. Time to check out walmart.

why is there such a serious anti-deal spotting etc policy on this site, anyways, just wondering?

This question should probably be posted in the service and support forum, but my guess is that it is because this site allows users to sell items only if they have an upgraded membership. Since whatever site was linked probably didn't pay to have a subscripiton to BF, they can't sell something on the forum. (Which I guess is kind of what was happening when it was linked.) This is just a guess though.

Good guess, plus if we allowed deal-spotting, many companies would open shill accounts and spam us day and night.

And even with a Gold or Dealer membership, the offer should go in the Exchange forums.

Why? It's a learning experience and just a warning, at that. Starting a thread to post an item for sale is restricted to paying members in the Exchange forums. Posting bargains that no one has asked about is selling or shilling. Simple rules.
