Factory second (rough steel) not a lottery second. Never been used, carried or sharpened. I really don't know why this one was considered a second. If you hold it in the light just right, you can see some very small spots on the Survive! Logo side. I tried several times to get a picture of what I'm talking about but my camera will not show it.
