Survive GSO 5.5 or suggestions for a fixed blade?

Yep, they should come with sheaths. I believe the explanation that it enables users to go custom is a cop out. They should at least come with something.

That said, there are a few great makers supplying sheaths for Busse and kin. My favorite for kydex is Al Welke - IMO, no finer kydex bender out there. For leather there are Chad Pirtle and Dwayne Puckett.

Yeah but you start adding on $50+ sheaths for each knife and suddenly that's a LOT of money. I started making my own; they aren't pretty, but they work well. It's just a pain to find the time to do it.

The kydex that comes with Carothers knives is some of the best I've seen.
 
LionSteel T5 would be an option. Niolox, cool micarta handle, great sheath. And they have a discount going on their site right now.

Or a BR Bravo. I have the slightly shorter 1.25 and like it.

I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment! I can’t think of a single fixed blade I own that I carry in the sheath it came with. Most stock sheaths are junk.

The stars haven’t aligned for me to try a Carothers knife yet. Always too slow on the draw or too low on dinero.

They use mashed cat kydex. It's fantastic.
 
Anyone know anyone that will gut the handle on an S1 and replace it with a better shape in G10/Micarta?

The Rat always looked great, but that darn choil, probably takes an inch off of the 5.25" blade. Besides, SR101...WTH is that?

Is BRK still putting out problematic (easy corrosion) 3V, or was that whole drama false?

Ive got one of his knives and have been happy with it. He’s gotten good reviews from members here. He’s out of Poland, so it may be a bit before he responds, but he will. Not going to lie, I was a little worried, but it took about two weeks for it to show up. He did a good job packing the knife for delivery.
 
I have to admit, I was slightly intimidated by the makers forum, but man, the talent there just blows my mind. I've sent a few msgs to several makers, so I suppose I'm in for the long haul now. ;)

...and look at me with a post count reflecting my favorite round. LOL
