Survive! GSO 5 and GSO 4.1 New Custom Kydex - PIC HEAVY

Thanks Texas. I know it's tough to ship a prized blade to a stranger you only know online and then wait several weeks to get it back. I appreciate the endorsement. I can assure everyone I treat their knives with the utmost care, even keeping the carbon blades oiled while I have them. All blades are locked in my safe when not being used for building the sheaths.

We don't have overly expensive things here, and live in a very nice neighborhood, but we do have an armed family, a good security system, safes, great neighbors that are home all day, and two well trained Dobermans I n the house.

I've had some expensive blades here before. Some valued at close to a $1,000.00 or more. Rare Chris Reeves , Randalls, and others. Never an issue if they are with me.

Another customer request......Multicam "Taco" with 3/8" fire steel loop.

Looks awesome! In your experience have you had any retention issues with taco style? The advantage of that style is the slimmer profile, right?

Last question... can a good taco style be made out of your carbon fiber material?

I like the looks of that taco style too. Seems like the slimmer profile would definitely have its benefits. I do not have a lot experience with kydex sheaths, but have picked up a couple with my new GSO knives. I am getting to like them. The only thing I do not like about them is that they ride so high on my belt. I need to get the lower ones, such as I have seen in some of the other posts here.

I am more used to leather sheaths (and holsters).

I can build the custom sheaths with drop loops for you. I put a drop on almost all of my outdoor blades. Tromping around in the woods or in camp it just digs into my side when it's up that high.

Thanks Silver. Never had any retention issues with the taco style. The key is getting that top eyelet high enough to put some decent tension on the hilt of the knife. I also hand flare the opening of the sheath so the knife slides in, hits that closed portion, and then snaps in below it, if that makes any sense.

Couple advantages. Slimmer profile is one but with my custom belt loops, it can also be worn IWB if you want to have it somewhere with you and not be seen.

And YES, I can do the taco with the Carbon Fiber.

Did I post this already? I took my 4.1 rig and made some mods to it. Added the fire steel and flashlight holder. Fire steel I made from a piece of antler off of a buck I shot at some point. The flashlight is the Fenix E01. Of course all the kydex is me.
