Survive! Sheaths and standard attachments that fit them

Yeah they seem to forget to contact people. I had to email them and finally got a reply yesterday.

Yea, it's by no means the end of the world and the product is top notch, but I wonder what would have happened had I not contacted them, as these seem to be in stock items? **shrugs** Again not a big deal, more or less just wanted to give people a heads up in case they decided to purchase they would be aware (when I went to their facebook page I found similar comments, which cleared things up)

They're called a sling pouch made by Tareinco. You can use them as a small small sheath pouch.

the small one truly is small, about 3 bic lighters I'd say. But depending on what you want to stash in it, its perfect. Besides the price and quality are spot on! I will try and do a more in depth write up, including looking at mounting options to gso sheaths.

I wasn't to happy with the customer service or the fact that I couldn't even track my order at all. Apparently they're on the way so it's good to hear that they're nicely made. Now I just need to find a nice way to tell them to get it together or I bet they'll keep pissing people off. Simple communication goes a long way.

man photobucket is a cluster lately. I took about 10 photos of these bags inside and out and from different angles, when i uploaded them it added 7 of each and deleting them feels like dialup....sigh, so you guys get one photo with my 4.1 for scale and reference:

I have been messing around with them and I think the little pouches will attach nicely to my 4.1 sheaths(might even try to add to one of my leather sheaths) but they wont carry much. My thoughts are some water proof firestarters, maybe some kind of compact firesteel and if I am really lucky some cordage...might swap cordage for a leatherman micra...unsure. The other pouch is a perfect cordage holder, and isn't too big either. I have two 50' hanks of 7 strand 550 cord right now in it and there is plenty of left over space. Each of them has a nice orange nylon ripstop lining which seems unnecessary at this price point or likely use case but adds a nice touch of quality. I will also add since it has come up in a number of threads: These guys are not great at communication. If you wan't an amazon like ordering process, I would not use them. They did however deliver and beyond my expectations and for a great price. I think they are also local in VA which is somewhat appealing.. I don't bring it up to bash them, but more so set the correct expectation. The website doesn't mention anything about lead times and frankly I would not be surprised if they are made to order. Took me about a month to month and a half to get them. All in all I would say I am pleased and think they will make a good addition to the various kit bags/sheath accessories.

Again sorry for the lack of detailed photos, maybe the bucket will cooperate later today

Mines been acting nuts since last week. I been trying to upload some shots of my kit for a week now. It won't even erase the extras it uploaded to mine.

Any measurements for them?

I just realized it's not displaying the original photo... But I took all the pictures on a 1/2 grid cutting board, can add dimensions too. Silly photobucket.....

The little ones are 2"x4"x0.5"
The large one is 3"x4"x8"

All measurements are very approximate. Hopefully these pictures will work:

Standard, I think you will be pleased. The little ones truly are little but add a great option, I like trying all these different shapes and sizes because you can never really be sure which option will work the best

Man I'm hoping so! I really hope I can figure out a way to mount one to the 3.5 easily. Now I just need to find a small Stuff to pack into it!

I would use some 550 cord to attach that little pouch to the sheath. Thread it through the rivets in a fasion like shoe laces an pass them through the channels on the back of the pouch as you go. Finish by passing each end through the bottom two rivets and tie off or use a spring loaded good cordlock. That is how I secured my 7/7 to the pals webbing on heavy vest. Heres a zoomed in pic so you have an example.

I like that, Riz. I had a similar picture in my mind of an X pattern way back when we were talking about Condor and Maxpedition.

I think paracord will be the answer for sure. I was thinking of ordering some .125 kydex to make a clip but that seems like a lot of unneeded hassle.

I just stopped by my house for lunch and these were finally delivered. They'll fit the 3.5 just fine and they're really well made!

That's awesome! I might also try and do something with the leather scraps i bought (a 5 lb bag!!) but i am still waiting for all of the Chicago screw hardware i ordered over a week ago (thanks snow storm..) But paracord is likely the solution for the kydex and I have plenty of that stuff to play around with. I liek the X Pattern riz, I think that's probably a good idea

Leather is a great idea! I'd like to see what you come up with.
I've been thinking about making an extra black sheath for the 3.5 but I only have .080 and .093 thicknesses so if I made a clip it would probably end up flimsy. I was thinking of setting something up like this but the clip would be long enough to hook through both loops on the pouch.

I'd mount it the same way but on the bottom two holes.

Well, maybe a dumb idea but you could mount a UKE low on the sheath and have the pouch ride on that - it might fit through the loops. You could also use a Blade-Tech Molle-lok but for center-mounting you'd need a couple kydex strips OR you could mount the clip side-ways on the front of the sheath and use the MOLLE-lok to clip the pouch to the sheath like so:

That's not a bad idea.
My only issue is that I like to carry this one higher up and concealed because I live in good ol' California and I don't really want anyone seeing it.
I plan on doing something like this once the 8 comes out. That's pretty damn genius using the original clip and a molle lock to mount a pouch!

AThe snow is melting, and the mail is finally being delivered again and all I can say is...time to get creative
