I finally got a chance to watch this, and it was fascinating. They seem like happy and well-adjusted people, contrary to what most people would expect.

One really interesting aspect I noticed was how difficult he thought it was while still single to last a single trapping season (Nov-Mar) alone. Makes me think of the recent WSS thread on how long you could last alone in the wild without people. A lot of us probably overestimate our ability to be alone.
 
Well that's 5 months of cold and white, activities are limited, it's less day light.

Tough for anyone "normal".
 
Great show. Thank you for posting the link. What an interesting couple. I wish they would do a follow up to see how they make it through the winter.
