I also like Les Stroud. He does have a tougher job surviving, since he's doing all the filming alone and has nobody staying with him.

But again, many people see it differently. IMO Bear Grylls (plz don't mock a true hardcore survivalist, when you're not even half as experienced as him) is an adventurist. He is by far more exciting, which is what some people are looking to see in a survival TV show.
While Les, on the other hand, is a photographer. He is also a good survivalist, don't get me wrong; Though his show is a bit boring for me. (I watched all the episodes of Survivorman and Man Vs. Wild)
 
Les Stroud "tweeted" earlier that he was meeting with the Prime Minister and the Queen today. There was a power failure in Toronto where the meeting was to take place. I wonder if his skills will help in this situation.
